We all have days where we have a thought that creeps in and we fail to take it captive. This is what happens…
1. It starts to attract more of the same thought’s
2. We will eventually act out on the thought and…
3. That action creates feelings/emotions
4. Those emotions attract more of the same stuff
Before we know it we are sitting right smack dab in the middle of THE LINGER EFFECT
You are going to have days like this, so just be ready. Some of you have already experienced this.

Pain
Struggle
Thoughts
Negativity
Is the one thing that will help more than anything. So, you can take them captive and make them obedient to Christ. And spend some time growing through what you go through.
The 2 non-negotiable’s today are
1. Transparency- the ability to take full responsibility for your actions and be open and honest moving forward.
2. Support System- these tangibles, these tools and resources are a support system. So when you learn to lean into them and they lean into you well your results will change almost instantly.
A Godly Mindset Changes everything
So, if you haven’t given this everything you’ve got my encouragement today is:
1. Recognize those things we let LINGER in your life
2. Be transparent in this process
3. Use the non-negotiable’s as a support system
And you will find a better version of yourself in the process.

1. It’s going to happen
2. Its not a negative thing
3. It’s proof that your headed in the right direction
4. So, learn to recognize what your pushback looks like and work on pushing through
5. Resilience is Mental Toughness so start training your mind now
6. Perseverance will increase your work ethic and make you stronger
7. An attitude of gratitude will 💯 change your life
8. You have everything you need inside you to overcome and win every day.

What do we do when we don’t feel like investing in this process?
1. Go back to your foundation because the verse is not strong enough. You need a stronger foundation one that will allow you to step into Growth Mindset.
2. Learn how to be intentional as soon as your feet hit the floor every morning.
3. Practice building mental toughness
4. Find your 1 discipline
5. Stop making excuses
6. Walk out this lifestyle no more lip service
It really comes down to how bad do you want this. Because that is ultimately the reason why this is lacking is because you are not being intentional with your time.
Understand this!!!!
Pushback will be there especially if you keep feeding your old lifestyle

What dismantling your old lifestyle might look like:
1. It’s the version of you that doesn’t hide from the truth- those closet habits have got to go away.
2. It’s getting rid of the easy button lifestyle- you put on the version of yourself that takes work.
3. It’s the version of yourself that needs forgiveness- from family, self, friends, God
4. It’s the version of yourself that learns to take every thought captive
5. The one that takes ownership, accepts responsibility, and stops letting your emotions lead.
6. It’s the Ephesians 4: 17-24 take off your old nature and put on the likeness of Christ
The 2 non-negotiable’s
1. #walkitout understand that this is a lifestyle and it will require you to put one foot in front of the other daily. You will no longer talk about who you want to be. Instead you will walk-it-out every day.
2. Growth mindset:
A. Failure is an opportunity to grow
B. I can learn to do anything I want
C. My effort and attitude determine my abilities
D. I am inspired by the success of others
E. Live outside my comfort zone

Why do you have to dismantle your old mindset?
1. Because if you don’t you will go back at some point
2. Because it gives you the opportunity to rebuild your foundation
3. Because you can’t rebuild with the mindset that created that unmotivated, unproductive, undisciplined, lazy lifestyle.
4. Because you have to think different
How do you dismantle that old mindset?
1. Brick by Brick
2. You might have to forgive (yourself, family, friends)
3. You have to understand that you’re emotions are not leaders so you have to take back control of your life (put your emotions back in their holsters)
4. Change your daily routine by thinking differently (do the opposite of what you used to do)
5. Start investing in yourself
The importance of mental toughness- it’s the one thing that gets the closest to your reason WHY so it needs to be the strongest tangible/resource.
Mental toughness can change everything for you moving forward.
Mental toughness must be built/constructed and the more time you spend strengthening MT the stronger you will be.
Discipline is that 1 tangible that connects directly to mental toughness. It will support MT and MT will support discipline.
My encouragement is to pick 1 discipline and let that 1 discipline attract everything else you will need for the journey.
Accountability is what we will close out this session with and it’s extremely important because it’s building your confidence.
Self-Accountability is the key to winning with mindset. If you can hold yourself accountable then you will accomplish everything you set out to build/cultivate/craft/create.
Just remember
You can’t pour from an empty cup, so spend time investing in yourself invest in your:
1. Mental Health
2. Emotional Health
3. Spiritual Health
4. Physical Health

How to cultivate/build/craft/create a Mindset?
1. The foundation must be set on the Word of God-
Philippians 2:5
1 Peter 1:13
Colossians 3:2
Philippians 4:8
Romans 12:2
Ephesians 4:22-24
Joshua 1:7-8
2. Your Reason WHY has to be tougher than all your excuses.
It needs to be personal. Something you can’t just walk away from. It needs to support the foundation and cling to the other non-negotiable’s at the same time, to deepen the bond.

How to cultivate a growth mindset?
1. Start with The Word of God- when the word of God is the foundation for your mindset:
A. You are built different
B. There’s a perfect plan for your life
C. That plan just needs you to #walkitout
D. You will find discipline
E. You will discover God’s desire’s
2. You have to let the Mind of Christ become who you are
Picture the Mind of Christ and all the things that he represents:

Salvation
Respect
Discipline
Peace
Joy
Happiness
Great Physician
Holy
Righteous
Made New
Learn to let the mind of Christ become your mindset.
3. Hide God’s word in your heart- this becomes part of your support system that we will talk about next week.
4. Protect yourself- how? The Armor of God found in Ephesians 6 put it on daily.
When God is the focal point of your Mindset, you will find a Growth Mindset!!!

The Linger Effect Season 4 Episode 2 Romans 12 1-2 the foundation my Mindset is built on. laziness or active
hurt and pain or gratitude
bad habits or good habits
positive relationships or negative relationships
feeling, emotions or mindset mentality
sickness & disease or health
poor relationships or healthy relationships
positivity or negativity
All of these are cultivated, creating, building the current version of yourself.
To get better we have to get better.
This is the ultimate goal
It’s in how you invest in yourself! The time you spend developing your mindset, mentality, and daily disciplines. If you want better then you have to be better. I encourage you to start investing in the future version of yourself, it will make all the difference.
